Welcome to my website, my name is Ryan Gordon I am founder of Through The Thirds and a UEFA-A-prep coach. I combine applied academic education with 10 years as a semi-professional footballer and 25 years coaching and recruitment experience in grassroots, academy, semi-professional and professional football. My goal is to further my CPD by adding to my FA qualifications and be a Head coach in the Premier League and coach in european competitions, complete a Ph.D. and a UEFA Pro-licence.
My experiences include academy and 1st team study visits to Barcelona FC (Spain), Inter-Milan (Italy), Valencia (Spain), Le Havre FC (France), FC Twente (Holland), and work experiences in the USA and Canada. Alongside coaching and scouting for grassroots, academy, semi-professional and professional football clubs I am currently Head of Football at the University of East London.

Through The Thirds coaching framework includes interventions, practice and technology which empowers player and coach development. We also work with UEFA-Pro licensed coach Joop Lensen whose expertise include technical structuring, talent and coach development in professional football clubs and international scouting. Joop was part of Hollands 1988 European championship winning coaching team working with the legendary Rinus Michels.

Our ambition is to ‘build a club’ through a long term vision whilst executing short and long term goals. Our annual training programs and action plans are innovative and creative and will help to build trust and provide direction. Our system will identify, recruit and develop talent to reach peak performance & achieve results. This is proven with 2 professional footballers currently playing in the EFL Championship with a combined transfer fee of £5.5 million. It is widely accepted both players will play in the English Premier League.
